Privacy

Last updated: September 2025

Welcome to Beacontel’s Privacy Notice. Your privacy matters to us — this page explains how Beacontel collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects your personal information when you use our services or interact with us.

1. Who we are & scope
BeaconTel is a telecommunications reseller in Canada. We provide voice, data, internet, and related services to individuals and businesses. This Privacy Notice applies to personal information that we collect, use, and disclose in the course of our commercial operations in Canada, including through our website, customer support, and contractual relationships (unless a separate policy is provided).

As a reseller, we also partner with third‑party carriers and service providers. Where others provide part of the service, their policies may also apply; we aim to align our practices and require comparable safeguards from them.

This Notice is intended to meet the requirements of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other applicable privacy and telecommunications regulations in Canada.

2. What is “personal information”?
By “personal information,” we mean any information about an identifiable individual (other than business contact information in certain cases). Examples include your name, address, email, phone number, billing and payment details, usage data, device identifiers, and support history.

We generally do not consider purely anonymized or aggregated data (which cannot reasonably identify you) to be personal information.

3. What information we collect & why
We collect only the personal information needed to provide, maintain, and improve our services. Some examples include account setup, billing, fraud prevention, network troubleshooting, customer support, and marketing preferences (with consent).

4. Consent & lawful basis
We require your consent to collect, use, or disclose your personal information, except in limited cases where the law permits or requires otherwise. Consent may be express or implied, and can be withdrawn subject to legal or contractual obligations.

5. Use, disclosure & third parties
We do not use or disclose personal information for purposes beyond those for which it was collected, unless permitted or required by law. We may share information with service partners, carriers, regulators, or affiliates, with appropriate safeguards.

6. Retention & disposal
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill purposes or legal/regulatory requirements, after which we securely delete, destroy, or anonymize it.

7. Accuracy & your rights
We strive to keep personal information accurate. You have rights to access, correct, withdraw consent, and opt out of marketing. We will respond within 30 days unless limited by law.

8. Safeguards & security
We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No system is 100% secure, but we act promptly to mitigate risks and notify individuals of breaches as required.

9. Cookies, tracking & analytics
We may use cookies, beacons, and analytics to improve services and for marketing (with consent). Cookies can be disabled in your browser.

10. Updates to this Privacy Notice
We may revise this Privacy Notice and will update the website and provide prominent notice where appropriate.
